Friday, 9 December 2016, 10am–5pm
Keynote Speaker: Peter Findlay, JISC Digital Portfolio Manager
The workshop aims to foster discussion among delegates by highlighting special collections and archival holdings across the GW4; providing an overview of recent and ongoing digitisation projects based in the GW4; exploring a range of interconnected opportunities and challenges through small-group discussion and plenary feedback; and showcasing the project website and resource/expert database.
Discussion sessions will focus on three interconnected themes:
- Researching with Digital Archives
- Teaching with Digital Archives
- Developing Digital Archives
Attendance is free for delegates from the GW4 consortium and external partners, but places are limited. We have also secured funding to cover reasonable travel costs incurred by delegates, as well as to provide a small number of travel bursaries for PhD researchers. The deadline for registration is midday, 5 December 2016: please register via Eventbrite at https://gw4-archives.eventbrite.co.uk.
We also invite proposals for short presentations (5–10 minutes) showcasing projects that are developing or making use of digital archives: the deadline for submissions is 2 December 2016. Please direct proposals (100 words) and enquiries to the Project Fellow, Michael Goodman (GoodmanMJ@cardiff.ac.uk). Doctoral researchers interested in attending should also contact the Project Fellow in the first instance.
